Celebrating Alumni Success – Joe Edwards Shines at the European Down Syndrome Swimming Championships

At Oaklands College, we are incredibly proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our students — both in and outside of college.

Last week, Joe Edwards, a talented student from our LIFE department, represented Great Britain at the European Down Syndrome Swimming Championships — and delivered an extraordinary performance.

Joe claimed an incredible eight gold medals, earning the title of European Junior Champion across four different strokes. His success on the international stage is a remarkable testament to his dedication, perseverance, and passion for swimming.

Everyone at Oaklands College is immensely proud of Joe’s achievements. His hard work, determination, and positive attitude continue to inspire both staff and fellow students.
