Adult Short Courses in Hertfordshire

Essential skills to increase your confidence and set you on the path to personal and career success.

We offer computing courses for beginners and Excel or Word courses to improve your confidence at work. If you'd like to know more about social media or eBay, we also have courses covering those subjects.

Please note you need to be aged 19 or over in order to enroll on our community learning courses. Our courses also need sufficient numbers in order to run but we'll contact you in case of a cancellation.

Intro to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): Jan, Thu, 19:00-21:00

The purpose of the course is to teach students how to use basic CBT techniques effectively in their daily lives so that they can lessen the impact of any negative thoughts, beliefs and attitudes they may have. This leads to less stressful, more enjoyable living, which increases their energy and underlying physical, emotional and mental health.

Mindfulness for Daily Living: Jan, Mon, 19:30-21:00

The purpose of the course is to teach students how to meditate using the Mindful focus on the breath and how to use other basic Mindfulness techniques effectively in their daily lives, so that they can lessen the negative impact of stress on their health and wellbeing.

Find Your Voice: Speaking to an Audience - 1 Day - Sat 23 Mar, 12:00-16:00

An energetic workshop that will give you the confidence and practical skills when speaking in front of people.   Whether you have to present information at work, speak in front of an auditorium of people or are planning on giving a speech at a wedding, this workshop will provide you with practical skills to confidently talk at each of these events.   You’ll be taken through the simple steps to a successful speech and then shown how to present with confidence, skill and professionalism.

Mindfulness Mini Retreat Day: 1 Day, Sat 23 March, 11:00-15:00

This is a wonderful opportunity to refresh and deepen your personal practice of mindfulness in a silent group. The day will focus on a sitting Meditation (breath, body, sounds, thoughts...), gentle mindful movement, full body scan, mountain meditation, silent sitting and walking practice. Full guidance and support will be given by the retreat facilitator.
