British Athletics Champion delivers virtual masterclass

Former Athletics Academy student turned 100m British Champion Ojie Edoburun speaks to new and prospective students.

On 24 August 2019, former Oaklands Wolves Athletics Academy star Ojie Edoburun took the country by storm, edging a strong field including Adam Gemili and Zharnel Hughes to claim the 100m gold at the 2019 Müller British Athletics Championships. 

A close-contact of the Athletics Academy, having coached with current Head; Ryan Freckleton, Ojie repaid his gratitude to the academy by joining a virtual development session with this year’s student athletes as well as new and potential 2020 recruits. 

Ojie shared his experiences as a student within the Oaklands College Athletics Academy, including the expectations for competing in high level competitions and balancing life through his transitional years and discussing the race that booked his place at the World Championships.
