Our team of award-winning chefs teaches students on Hospitality & Catering Courses day in and day out. We are incredibly proud of their experience, qualifications and credentials in delivering expert advice to our students, and now we're extending the offer to you.

Join our Oaklands Cookery School and pick our course to swot up some new skills, meet new people and explore your foodie side to wow friends and family.

We offer courses which in just a few hours will give you the confidence to prepare your next healthy lunch, great dinner or tasty feast. We've hosted a Three Bird Roast Masterclass to get prepped for Christmas and enjoyed a sell out Chocolatier masterclass ahead of Valentines Day. Remember - you don't need a certain level of experience, ingredients or equipment - just bring yourself on the day and let your chefs take it from there.

What courses do we offer?

We offer a variety of cookery courses during the academic year. It's a great opportunity for you  to learn from award-winning chefs and have some fun doing it! Classes take place in a professional kitchen space at Oaklands College where we train our students.

 Three Bird Roast

Our three-hour session will teach you the secrets behind a three bird roast, a majestic trio of duck, chicken and guinea fowl and a whole host of tips for making a Christmas meal to remember.

The session includes:

  • How to bone, roll and prep a three bird roast (feeds 12)
  • Delicious treats to take home
  • How to make mulled wine from scratch
  • Ideas for the perfect Christmas dessert

Valentines Loves Chocolate

 Prepare to smoosh your partner for Valentines by learning the language of love that is chocolate.  Our master Chocolatier Paul Wood and Head Chef Martin West will walk you through the intricacies of White Chocolate Fudge, the beauty of a selction of petit fois and the fun (and mess) that can be made from creating truffles.  Of course the best bit is giving everything you’cve made to your partner on Valentines (if you don’t eat them first!)

Dinner Party, Wine Tasting & Pairing Course

Looking for an excuse to get the good china out? Not entirely sure what wine to buy? This two part, whole day training course is fun and immersive and will have you finely tuned to host the most discerning party guests. You will be guided through making a spectacular 5 course extravaganza that’s big on taste and simplicity. Then jump into the incredible world of grapes, with a wine tasting session which will pair up your 5 courses exquisitely. With plenty of goodies and treats to take home with you this really is a special course and not one to miss!

Bite-size Courses

The Stables can be a great place for groups to come together and learn the art of cooking. We offer a variety of courses suitable for groups of six to 10 people, with any larger bookings subject to availability.

These four hour bite size courses are suitable for corporate team building events or your next day out with friends.By booking an exclusive group you can enjoy a shared experience to bring people together - it creates a great atmosphere and gets the group talking.
