College hosts another successful World School Games

Annual World School Games held for 12 local primary schools

On Friday 14 June Oaklands College held the fourth annual World School Games event for 12 local primary schools. The event saw over 100 students taking part in a wide range of sporting activities including cheerleading, rugby, archery, golf, football, basketball, rowing and athletics.  

The majority of the events were facilitated by Oaklands College academy students demonstrating their sporting expertise by running the athletics, basketball, football and rugby activities whilst young Sports Leaders and other providers oversaw the other activities.

Zoe Hancock, Principal of the College commented: “We are very proud to be hosts of the primary schools’ World School Games for the second year. It is a community initiative that is so well received by the schools and children and we will do everything we can to help it continue.”
