Important information

What are the Course Requirements?

You will need an intermediate level of English at least. We can send you a test for you to do before the start of the course to see if you have a suitable level.

You will receive a language test to see if you are the right level.

The course allows students an opportunity to review some language that they have met before and put it into practice in the world around them. Sessions will begin with a review of a language area at Intermediate level to ensure everyone has the basics, then it will move on to more complex areas at Upper Intermediate. Typical language areas include: Narrative tenses, Gerunds and Infinitives, Perfect tenses, Relative clauses, Future simple and continuous, Reported speech. As you are in the UK, a lot of reference will be made to the vocabulary of everyday life in the UK. The focus will be to give a lot of word combinations that you can put into immediate use in the world around you. There will be some reference to reading and writing materials, but the main focus will be on speaking and listening. The tutor will also involve you in project work including the use of PCs.

There is no formal assessment. The teacher will give you regular tests to see how you are improving. At the end of the course you will receive a college certificate.

Not applicable.

If you are planning to stay in the country, you can apply for one our part time or full time programmes which start in September. If you are returning home, you can go to your local language school and keep improving your English.
