Our Hospitality & Catering Department comprises a group of teaching staff with an extensive range of excellent industry experience, including working in Michelin rated establishments, Directors Dining Rooms and five star hotels.

What are the Course Requirements?

You must have a minimum of four GCSEs with 4 points or at Grade C or above English or successful completion of a relevant level 2 qualification.

You should have a genuine interest in Event Management and want to develop your skills in this area.

This course provides you with an introduction to and understanding of the business environment, marketing and communication, and management of resources and finance. It also covers the elements crucial to successful event management includings Customer Service, Health, Safety and Security, Supervisory Skills, Planning and Managing an Event. You will also study English and Maths as part of your programme at the level appropriate for you.

This programme is assessed in both group and individual assignments, presentations and practical work, some of which are linked to the Colleges Stables Restaurant. Work experience will form a major part of your learning throughout your time at the college.

You will undertake a level 2 CIEH Food safety award

The Level 3 Diploma in Business and Event Management can be a stepping stone to a Higher Education. It may also lead into employment or industry training at supervisory or management level within the hospitality industry and associated fields such as Marketing, Human Resources and Event Planning and Management.
