There are no formal requirements for this course, however in order to take the PA6 assessment candidates must have passed NPTC PA1 Certificate of competence

This is a short course with training taking place at Oaklands College. You will most likely be working within a land based industry and have a requirement to apply pesticides using a knapsack sprayer or hand held lance from a mounted sprayer

Working principles of knapsack sprayers; routine maintenance; safety and precautionary measures; calibration procedures; environmental implications; field operation, cleaning and recording. NB: Due to change of legalisation in June 1994, this module must be taken by operators who use a hand lance from a mounted boom sprayer

After training you will be assessed by an NPTC approved assessor and you will be required to demonstrate that you are competent in the use of a knapsack sprayer. The Proficiency Testing is additional and independent of the training day. Please note that the cost of the course does not include the assessment which is an additional cost

Not applicable.

Once you have gained PA6 you can (if you do not already hold it) attempt PA2 (mounted sprayer certificate of competence).
