A Level Maths (OCR) with Mechanics and Statistics

Overview

A level Mathematics gives you the opportunity to develop your analytical and problem-solving skills. In this course you will study a range of topics including calculus, trigonometry and geometry, learning how to use these concepts within ‘applied’ topics such as statistics and mechanics.
There are 3 overarching themes of A Level Mathematics:
– Proof – Thinking logically and communicating ideas precisely;
– Problem solving – Looking logically at problems, generating and evaluating solutions;
– Modelling – Using maths to solve real world problems.

Do you enjoy Mathematics? Do you enjoy a challenge? Are you thinking of a future in Engineering, Economics, ICT, Business or Psychology? Answer YES to any of these questions and A Level Mathematics could be the subject for you! Many of the greatest philosophers of the last generation were Mathematicians.

A minimum of 5 GCSEs at 5, with a minimum of a 7 in Mathematics

You will sit various in-class assessments throughout the 2 years of your study, leading up to formal exams at the end of the second year.

What Next?

A Level Maths is an excellent preparation for a variety of Higher Education courses, in particular those involving Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Psychology, Economics and Business studies. The analytical and logical skills acquired during the course also have a wide application in the workplace.

A Levels can lead you onto many different career paths, including university to further develop your skills in your chosen subject(s).

16-18 years old, no tuition fees apply to Full Time courses and fees subject to confirmation. Additional costs applicable to BHS courses.

For all two year courses fees shown above are per year.

Aged 19+ and planning to take a level 3 or above a different fee may apply. You may be eligible for an Advanced Learning Loan.

All HE courses (full and part time) are subject to tuition fees.
