UAL Level 2 Award in Art & Design
Overview
The UAL Level 2 Award and Diploma in Art and Design has been developed to provide you with the opportunity to explore the materials, methods and processes that support art and design activities, and to begin to develop some related technical skills.
Course Content - What will I learn?
You will study two units:
– Introduction to materials, processes and technical skills in art and design
– Introduction to contextual research in art and design
Am I right for the course?
If you enjoy learning about Art and Design, working with materials to make your own art exploring with clay, paint, textiles, inks and paint, you will enjoy the range of opportunities to develop your skills further. You will print, paint, construct, design and draw producing work in a variety of scales and media. You will learn to record your work by illustrating and writing ideas in your sketchbooks.
Three GCSEs at Grade 3/ D or above, preferably including Art, or a Level 1 Diploma in Art and Design or other related Level 1 qualification.
Both units are internally assessed and internally verified through yourÂ’ portfolio of evidence.
Additionalities will be built in as appropriate to your programme of learning. Additionalities on the BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Art and Design include Printmaking and Digital Imaging and Functional Skills in English or Maths if required.

What Next?
The UAL Awarding Body Level 2 Award in Art & Design is intended as a precursor to the Level 2 Diploma in Art & Design.
The qualification providesyous with an opportunity to establish your interest and level of commitment for the subject.
A Level 2 Diploma prepares you for employment and provides a good grounding to go on to a more advance course such asLevel 3l Diploma in: Art and Design, Fashion, Graphic Design, Interactive Media, Photography or Textiles

16-18 years old, no tuition fees apply to Full Time courses and fees subject to confirmation. Additional costs applicable to BHS courses.
For all two year courses fees shown above are per year.
Aged 19+ and planning to take a level 3 or above a different fee may apply. You may be eligible for an Advanced Learning Loan.
All HE courses (full and part time) are subject to tuition fees.
