Hair and beauty student putting on make up onto a woman

The VTCT Level 2 Award in Preventing Contact Dermatitis is a course that has been specifically designed to develop your knowledge and understanding of the characteristics and causes of the ever increasing skin condition of contact dermatitis, and how it can be prevented if you work in the hair, beauty and therapy industries.

The purpose of this qualification is to raise your awareness of the skin condition for yourself and colleagues whether you are in education or employment.

Course Content - What will I learn?

You will learn about the causes of contact dermatitis and how to prevent it. You will also look at an overview of the health and safety legislation in place to help prevent this condition.

Am I right for the course?

Thsi is a standalone course, however, if you are studying a Beauty, Complementary Therapy or Media Make Up course then this course is an ideal addition to your portfolio of qualifications as it shows potential employers that you are aware of how to protect yourself and prevent contact dermatitis.

No prior qualifications required.

You will be assessed by completion of online assessments, written assignments, and oral questions.

A variety of qualified and experienced professionals will be involved in the delivery of this programme as it is offered to all students within the department, each bringing specialist knowledge and experience to this qualification.

What Next?

Your next move could be to study further full time VRQ qualifications within the Beauty, Complementary Therapy and Media Make Up department and/or enhance your learning by taking part in the Continuous Professional Development Courses, 1 Day Workshops or Part-time Courses that we have on offer.

Our Hair and Beauty courses enable you to work in a wide variety of salons, nail bars, spas, cruise ships, or even work abroad in luxury resorts.
