Land Management and Arboriculture Skills Bootcamp
Skills Bootcamps is an exciting new funded initiative for Hertfordshire designed to provide short flexible training courses where individuals will gain sector specific skills for life, enabling individuals to enter into the sector, retain in a new industry or upskill in their current career.
This course will equip learners with the knowledge and skills required for the green sector through a combination of classroom learning and practical work experience working with industry professionals. Over the 4 week programme, learners will study industry specific skills, employability skills and gain hands on experience with an employer.
If you are interested in a career occupation such as tree climber, tree surgeon, arborist or forestry worker, then this course allows you to gain knowledge and skills ready for these careers.
Any candidates who are unemployed will have guaranteed interview on completion of the programme with a local green skills employer.

– Invasive Non-Native Species (INNS)
– Ecology awareness
– OPM awareness
– Introduction to Tree Surveying
– Tree planting and aftercare

– CV Writing and Interview Skills
Am I right for the course?
To be eligible for this course, you must be:
19 years old+ as of 31/08/23
Live in Hertfordshire or in proximity
Able to drive, or willing to take lessons to gain paid employment
Right to work
Good level of English and Maths
– Good level of English and Maths
– Attendance of planned sessions
– Looking to gain employment on completion, or develop your career through new roles/responsibilities
You will be taught by industry professionals from Hertfordshire. Sessions will take place at St Albans campus.

Aged 19+ and planning to take a level 3 or above a different fee may apply. You may be eligible for an Advanced Learning Loan.
