Introduction to Modern Floristry (Fee incl all flowers/sundries): Starts Tue 1 Feb, 19:00-21:00



Each week we will focus on a different aspect of modern floristry such as a small oasis arrangement; a staggered arrangement inside a vase; hand tied design; massed flowers in a vase; tropical design and seasonal display.

Course Content - What will I learn?

To learn about modern aspects of floral design, be aware of health and safety aspects and how to use floral foam correctly. You will develop an understanding of the use of tools and equipment. Be able to choose plant material and flowers for different designs and understand the need for conditioning and cleaning of vases etc. you will be able to produce various modern designs and to understand what to look for when buying and choosing plant material and looking in your garden.


Am I right for the course?

If you are interested in developing your floral design skills with exciting new ideas, then this leisure course is for you. The cost of flowers and sundries will be included in the fee.

There are no entry requirements however all learners must be 19 years old or over.

16-18 years old, no tuition fees apply to Full Time courses and fees subject to confirmation. Additional costs applicable to BHS courses.

For all two year courses fees shown above are per year.

Aged 19+ and planning to take a level 3 or above a different fee may apply. You may be eligible for an Advanced Learning Loan.

All HE courses (full and part time) are subject to tuition fees.
