Digital Photography for Beginners: Wed 24 Jan, 19:00-21:00

Overview

How to use your (DSLR or Mirrorless/ Bridge,) digital camera-controls and menu systems, saving and re-sizing digital photos. How to take creative photographs and manipulate images on the computer.

Course Content - What will I learn?

Camera – how it functions using manual controls, aperture, shutter speed, iso, white balance, depth of field, focal length, overview of historical and contemporary photography, introduction to the basics of photo editing in Adobe Photoshop, introduction to practical studio use in our college photo studio.

Am I right for the course?

This course is for all learners 19 years old or over who wish to explore their interest in photography.

There are no entry requirements

Learner feedback – Q&A – group discussion, one-to-one tuition, screen images and prints, written notes, observations.

What equipment learners will need to provide: Camera – Digital Single Lens Refex (DSLR) or Mirrorless/ Bridge, Notepad, Pen, USB Memory Stick and Camera Manual.

Fees

16-18 years old, no tuition fees apply to Full Time courses and fees subject to confirmation. Additional costs applicable to BHS courses.

For all two year courses fees shown above are per year.

Aged 19+ and planning to take a level 3 or above a different fee may apply. You may be eligible for an Advanced Learning Loan.

All HE courses (full and part time) are subject to tuition fees.
