Printmaking Workshop: Thu 25 Apr, 18:45-21:00
Overview
The first week we will review individual levels of skill and identify what participants would like to achieve from the course. Individual learning plans will be agreed with the tutor. Group demonstrations will take place over the course duration and will include reductive lino print, alternative mono print techniques and collography, however, as the course will become individually led other techniques and processes maybe facilitated. The course is run as a printmakers workshop with 1:1 tutor support.
Course Content - What will I learn?
In these workshops you will learn how to combine printing techniques such as mono printing and lino to produce more complex compositions exploring colour, shape, texture and pattern. Sessions will introduce you to a range of contemporary print work. This research will inspire and inform the work produced and improve your own development and final outcomes. Whilst printmaking techniques will be demonstrated on a weekly basis, there will be a greater emphasis on self-directed study in the studio and focused 1:1 tuition, this will enable you to create individually led artwork. Regular group and 1:1 critiques will help you review and plan your work. You will finish by being shown how to present your work professionally through mounting and will leave with a portfolio of prints.
