Level 2 Certificate in Preparing for Further Studies in Education – January Start
Overview
The Pre-Access Certificate in Preparing for Further Study in Education is intended to support progression to an Access to HE Diploma in a related area. You will attend college one day per week.
The Certificate will provide you with a firm foundation in terms of knowledge, skills and understanding of education, while at the same time giving you the opportunity to develop and practice your study skills. You will have the chance to practise producing written work in the format expected when progressing to an Access to HE Diploma and to experience the same approach to assessment, making you better prepared for further study.
Am I right for the course?
This qualification is designed for adult learners who are aspiring to higher education, lack the necessary qualifications to apply for a degree course but are not yet ready to embark on a preparatory Level 3 qualification
You should be ready to undertake further learning or training and keen to develop knowledge and/or skills in a specific subject area.
You should be age 19 or over.
The pre-Access qualification has a single mandatory, graded unit which requires you to complete an extended project in your chosen sector or subject. You can then choose the remaining units from a range of optional ungraded units, selecting those that match your interests and best fit with your planned progression route.
Oaklands College has a team of experienced and specialist subject staff who have industry experience and deliver the teaching and learning on the programme. In addition there is a dedicated team of personal tutors who will help you develop your study skills and support you in reaching your full academic potential.
