Level 2 Technical Certificate in Plumbing

Overview

This course offers students a way of studying on a full time or part time basis, either as a school leaver or an adult looking to break into the industry. The qualification is designed to provide the underpinning knowledge required to complete the full Diploma Level 2 in order to become a fully qualified Plumber being able to work in most parts of the industry.

Course Content - What will I learn?

Units include: Health & Safety in buidling services engineering, Scientific principles for domestic, industrial and commercial plumbing, common plumbign processses, Cold water systems, Domestic hot water systems, Drainage systems.

Am I right for the course?

Are you looking to go into the plumbing installation industry? This course will give you a recognised qualification within the plumbing industry.

A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 9 – 3 including a grade 4 in either maths or English and a Level 1 qualification.

The C&G L2 Technical Certificate in Plumbing is assessed through on-line multiple choice exams covering all core units and one C & G multiple choice exam at the end of the course. There is approximately 120 hours of practical assessment to be completed.

Plus, Health and Safety, First Aid and Fire Safety. An introduction to the basic techniques and methods of different plumbing systems used in the industry. This is a college based qualification and involves working with a range of different plumbing systems.

The plumbing team is made up of fully qualified trades people who have
come into Further Education from different parts of the plumbing industry. Collectively, the plumbing team at Oaklands College has vast experience in domestic, commercial and industrial installations and are here to fully support and train you to the correct level required by City and Guilds and the plumbing installation industry

What Next?

On successful completion of the Level 2 Certificate in Plumbing, you can return in to complete the City and Guilds Level 3 Certificate.

During any of our Plumbing and Gas courses you will be expected to seek employment in the industry enabling you to gain invaluable hands-on experience.

Fees

16-18 years old, no tuition fees apply to Full Time courses and fees subject to confirmation. Additional costs applicable to BHS courses.

For all two year courses fees shown above are per year.

Aged 19+ and planning to take a level 3 or above a different fee may apply. You may be eligible for an Advanced Learning Loan.

All HE courses (full and part time) are subject to tuition fees.
