Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Retail Operations – online
The qualification will provide an introduction to the retail industry to those new to or seeking employment in this area. It will help you develop an understanding of the different aspects of working in the retail sector and prepare you for progression into a range of higher level qualifications within the retail sector, including more practical qualifications where your knowledge can be put into practice.
This qualification is delivered entirely online, however students will also have the option of either a weekly online or face to face tutorial.
Course Content - What will I learn?
The Level 2 Certificate in Undetstanding Retail Operaions will develop your understanding of a wide range of retail subjects, such as dealing with customers in various contexts, handling cash, stock management and retail law.
Optional units give you the opportunity to undertake learning programmes specific to your interests or aspirations within the retail sector, and allow progression onto higher level qualifications within both generic and specialist areas.
Within the course you will study a range of units, that may include the following:
– Understanding customer service in the retail sector
– Understanding the retail selling process
– Understanding how individuals and teams contribute to the effectiveness of a retail business
– Understanding how a retail business maintains health and safety on its premises
– Understanding retail consumer law
– Understand how to deal with customer queries and complaints in a retail environment
Am I right for the course?
This course is suitable for adults (age 19+) who are either currently out of employment or looking to complete a qualification that provides evidence of work level competence in the retail sector.
You must hold GCSE / L2 Functional skills in either Maths or English or international equivalents.
Learners will complete an online portfolio of evidence throughout the course.
Delivery of this qualification will be entirely online. Pre-prepared lesson resources will be published weekly with audio overlay. Students will be able to meet with tutors each week for support online.

Alternatively you could progress onto the L3 Access to HE qualification in Business Management or Digital Marketing

Aged 19+ and planning to take a level 3 or above a different fee may apply. You may be eligible for an Advanced Learning Loan.
