Level 2 First Extended Certificate in Travel and Tourism
Overview
This practical and work related course that will give you an overall appreciation of the UK travel and tourism industry. You will benefit from developing a wide range of skills and gain sound knowledge which will equip you for a junior role within one of the most exciting industries.
Course Content - What will I learn?
The course aims to provide you with a specialist qualification that focuses on the travel and tourism industry. The qualification covers a wide range of topics from tourist attractions, promotion of tourism, how tourists travel in the UK, travel and tourism destinations in the UK, customer service and selling skills, airports and airlines, team working and communication and activity tourism.
Am I right for the course?
You will need to have an interest in working with customers and be able to work as a part of a team to provide information and advice to tourists to help them experience all that the UK has to offer to them during their holiday or visit.
A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 9 – 3 including a grade 4 in either maths or English and a Level 1 qualification.
Assessment is through a variety of methods. Formal written reports and assessments, multi choice papers, presentations,
Interviews and practical assessments are all used on this course.
The programme may involve an external trip yet to be confirmed. This may result in some additional cost to the student.
Teachers on the travel and tourism course have a great deal of industry and teaching experience.
What Next?
On successful completion of the course, you may progress onto the National foundation Diploma in Travel & Tourism at level 3 or seek employment in a tourism-related job. Appropriate future career steps may include tour operator work, holiday resort representatives, holiday park staff, visitor attraction staff, or work within the hospitality industry such as hotels and restaurants.

16-18 years old, no tuition fees apply to Full Time courses and fees subject to confirmation. Additional costs applicable to BHS courses.
For all two year courses fees shown above are per year.
Aged 19+ and planning to take a level 3 or above a different fee may apply. You may be eligible for an Advanced Learning Loan.
All HE courses (full and part time) are subject to tuition fees.
