L3 National Extended Certificate in Esports

Overview

Do you enjoy gaming? Are you interested in everything about the gaming industry, its technology and passionate to make a career in this fantastic and exciting industry?

This course offers a unique opportunity to study a sector that crosses over multiple subject areas such as sport, marketing, enterprise, IT and creative. It provides an opportunity to develop social, physical, mental and financial skills into one qualification to deepen and expand learning.

The course will provide learners with the necessary skills on how to healthily compete in tournaments, the skills and knowledge of the industry, the organisation of setting up esports tournaments and legal and ethical issues within the industry.

This course is currently being offered subject to validation by Pearsons.

Course Content - What will I learn?

The National Certificate is made up of 4 units, studied over 1 year:

Introduction to Esports , Esports Skills, Strategies and Analysis, Enterprise and Entrepreneurship in the Esports Industry, Health, Wellbeing and Fitness for Esports Players, Games Design*, Psychology for Esports Performance*, Computer Networking*

*Completion of these additional 3 modules would allow students to achieve the Foundation Diploma

What Next?

This qualification aims to give you a broad insight into the different types of roles and areas of the esports industry, whether thatÂ’s coaching, commentary, management, content creation, events and more.

It can also pave the way to many other career options, like games development, publishing, streaming and more.

Successful completion of your chosen course could lead onto a higher level course, university or into employment.

16-18 years old, no tuition fees apply to Full Time courses and fees subject to confirmation. Additional costs applicable to BHS courses.

For all two year courses fees shown above are per year.

Aged 19+ and planning to take a level 3 or above a different fee may apply. You may be eligible for an Advanced Learning Loan.

All HE courses (full and part time) are subject to tuition fees.
