VTCT L3 Certificate in Swedish Massage

Overview

Students will work towards the level 3 Certificate in Swedish massage. There will be written and practical summative assessments, covering the ranges set by the awarding body VTCT. Related anatomy and physiology, massage techniques, client consultation, aftercare and professionalism enable the therapist to perform a professional body massage treatment. All learners are required to perform and receive all treatments during the course.

Course Content - What will I learn?

You will learn how to work safely, observing industry health, safety and hygiene practices for Swedish massage. You will also gain an understanding of the anatomy and physiology relating to massage.
You will learn and practice the 5 classic massage techniques with underpinning theory, putting all learning together when working professionally on fellow students and clients.

Am I right for the course?

Swedish body massage is for all learners over 18 who have a keen interest in sports and holistic therapies. An interview is required

No pre qualifications necessary but a reasonable level of English comprehension and an interest in anatomy and physiology of the human body will be of benefit.

All learners will be required to carry out research and assignments. Practical and written assessments are performed continuosly throughout the course.Additionally you will be required to carry out case studies at home.

STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO PURCHASE A UNIFORM AND MATERIALS FROM THE COLLEGE (cost and methods of purchase to be confirmed at interview).
Oasis at Oaklands provides learners with the opportunity to gain first hand experience in an operational salon. You may be required to bring clients in for practical assessments.

What Next?

After successful completion of this Swedish massage course, there are many follow on courses: Sports massage, Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Indian head massage etc.

Our Hair and Beauty courses enable you to work in a wide variety of salons, nail bars, spas, cruise ships, or even work abroad in luxury resorts. Depending on the level you choose to study, we recommend that you carry on climbing the ladder within Oaklands, and then onto university or into employment.

16-18 years old, no tuition fees apply to Full Time courses and fees subject to confirmation. Additional costs applicable to BHS courses.

For all two year courses fees shown above are per year.

Aged 19+ and planning to take a level 3 or above a different fee may apply. You may be eligible for an Advanced Learning Loan.

All HE courses (full and part time) are subject to tuition fees.
