Overview

This is a part-time course for adults learners aged 19+.
To gain a place on this course you will have an interview with a tutor to ensure suitability.

You will develop your bricklaying skills gaining experience and knowledge and increasing your confidence.

Core units are: Health & Safety and Principles of Construction. The practical units are: Setting Out, Constructing Complex Garden Wall and Detailed Cavity Walling.

Am I right for the course?

Having successfully completed your training on the Level 1 Brickwork course, the Level 2 Diploma is your natural progression. This course will help you get work in the construction industry. You will need to have GCSE grades of grade 3 or above (C grade) in Maths & English.

A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 9 – 3 including a grade 4 in either maths or English and a Level 1 qualification.

The course is assessed with practical modules, on-line multiple choice exams and assignments. Students will sit two end of year exams Construction Health & Safety & Principals of construction.

All the tutors are fully qualified experienced bricklayers All the teachers regularly return to industry to keep up with current building methods of construction

What Next?

On successful completion of an Level 2 Diploma in brickwork the natural progression is to continue into industry as an improver, Apprentice or an NVQ work based qualification.

Trowel trades can lead you onto many different career paths, including higher level courses to further develop your skills in your chosen subject(s).

Fees

16-18 years old, no tuition fees apply to Full Time courses and fees subject to confirmation. Additional costs applicable to BHS courses.

For all two year courses fees shown above are per year.

Aged 19+ and planning to take a level 3 or above a different fee may apply. You may be eligible for an Advanced Learning Loan.

All HE courses (full and part time) are subject to tuition fees.
