NCFE Level 2 Diploma for Entry to the Uniformed Services

Overview

The Level 2 Diploma is a specialist practical and vocational qualification.
You learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations,activities and demands. The course is designed to give you an insight into the practicalities and realities of working within a public service organisation. The course has a range of diverse and challenging topic areas offering an introduction to the skills you will need when working in the public sector.

Course Content - What will I learn?

Learners will get to study a variety of different units which is designed to give learners a perspective on the different entry routes into a variety of services. The curriculum is designed to develop the necessary skills to support learners transition into the services. Units will include:

Investigate Employment in the Uniformed Services
Physical Fitness for the Uniformed Services
Develop Team Working and Problem Solving Skills
Health and Safety in the uniformed services
Health and hygiene in the uniformed services
Follow uniformed service routine
Exploring equality and diversity for the uniformed services
Explore the use of telecommunication in the uniformed services
Explore volunteering and volunteering opportunities

Am I right for the course?

You need a willingness to learn the self discipline of Public Services work, motivation, committment and enthusiasm to participate in physical activity and voluntary activities in your spare time.

A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 9 – 3 including a grade 4 in either maths or English and a Level 1 qualification.

What Next?

Successful completion will allow you to progress onto a more advanced course such as the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Public Serivces or other Level 3 qualification.

Recent students have secured places on degree courses in sociology, crime and psychology, law, outdoor and adventure activities and health and social care.

16-18 years old, no tuition fees apply to Full Time courses and fees subject to confirmation. Additional costs applicable to BHS courses.

For all two year courses fees shown above are per year.

Aged 19+ and planning to take a level 3 or above a different fee may apply. You may be eligible for an Advanced Learning Loan.

All HE courses (full and part time) are subject to tuition fees.
