Course Content - What will I learn?
• Fashion marketing: Sell a product, promotion, social media, e-commerce and advertising.
• Buying and Merchandising: Stock into store, choosing the product, making a profit.
• Visual merchandising: Stock Presentation, Window Display, Store layouts and design.
• The supply chain: Working with suppliers, Logistics and delivery
• Retail management: Management Principles, Team leadership and Customer Service
• Garment Technology: Fabrics and internals, fit and form, pattern construction.
• Digital: Indesign, Photoshop and Illustrator for Fashion Promotion.
• Store Design: Interiors and exteriors
• Sustainability: product design and supply chain
Am I right for the course?
This course would be suitable for those who are inspired by the world of fashion and are serious about a career within the industry. You need to be a creative individual with a passion for every aspect of fashion. This course is ideal if you are looking for a practical, challenging and career-focused alternative to A levels.
A minimum of 4 GCSEs grade 9 – 4 including maths and English or a full Level 2 with a merit profile and grades 9 – 4 in English & maths.
What Next?
Progression onto another course at Oaklands college – such as Level 4 fashion retail if possible in future, or if not a level 4 at a different college such as FRA.

University – subjects such as buying, merchandising, communication, styling, journalism, marketing, visual merchandising, supply chain etc

16-18 years old, no tuition fees apply to Full Time courses and fees subject to confirmation. Additional costs applicable to BHS courses.
For all two year courses fees shown above are per year.
Aged 19+ and planning to take a level 3 or above a different fee may apply. You may be eligible for an Advanced Learning Loan.
All HE courses (full and part time) are subject to tuition fees.
