Level 3 Diploma in Music Performance

Overview

This course consists of an exciting rage of performance, composition, theoretical and contextual units that will provide you with exciting experiences whilst you develop industry relevant skills and abilities. You will spend time preparing materials and rehearsing both individually and as a member of a group as well as researching your subject, writing reports and essays, presenting your findings and keeping a practice and development journal.

Am I right for the course?

You should have a passion for music performance and be able to play an instrument to a competent level. You must also have the ability to work with other music students on group projects.

Four GCSEs with 4 points or at Grade C or above preferably including English and Maths, or a Level 2 Diploma in Music. You will be required to audition on your first instrument.

There are no exams and assessment takes the form of both practical assessment and written work.

You will also study English and Maths as part of your programme at the appropriate level for you.

As well as your formal studies, you will benefit from an exeptoinal enrichment programme providing you with numerous performance opportunities at various events.

What Next?

The Extended Diploma is equivalent to three A levels and is therefore a recognised academic qualification. Upon successful completion, you could go onto a variety of courses in higher education.

All Music students develop experience and knowledge of how the music industry works.

Fees

16-18 years old, no tuition fees apply to Full Time courses and fees subject to confirmation. Additional costs applicable to BHS courses.

For all two year courses fees shown above are per year.

Aged 19+ and planning to take a level 3 or above a different fee may apply. You may be eligible for an Advanced Learning Loan.

All HE courses (full and part time) are subject to tuition fees.
