Level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma in Plumbing (8202-35)

Overview

The Level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma in Plumbing is aimed at those interested in a career in the plumbing industry. The qualification follows on from the Level 2 course, aiming to give you advanced plumbing knowledge and skills which you can apply in the workplace. Develop your knowledge and skills through practical and theory sessions focused around plumbing installation, drainage, central heating systems and more.

Employer and industry involvement is a key element of this qualification. This will enrich the learning experience and give every learner an awareness of the expectations of prospective employers within the plumbing & gas industry. These activities and tasks range from industry-set assignments, to demonstrations and work experience.

Course Content - What will I learn?

You will undertake the following units:

• Cold water system planning and design,
• Hot water system planning and design,
• Central heating system planning and design,
• Sanitation system planning and design,
• Environmental technology systems,
• Site procedures and planning

Am I right for the course?

This course is for candidates who want to work as plumbers in the building services engineering sector. This qualification does not make candidates fully qualified plumbers or plumbing and heating engineers, however it does allow candidates to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in the plumbing and heating sector.

You should already hold the Level 2 Diploma in Plumbing Studies or equivalent in order to complete the qualification satisfactorily. If you do not have formal qualifications you must demonstrate adequate prior knowledge and experience to ensure you have the potential to gain the qualification.

You will be assessed through a theory exam, an assignment and a completed employer involvement portfolio.

The plumbing department staff have all come from industry and have a large skills set. you will be taught by qualified and experienced gas and plumbing engineers.

What Next?

You could progress to employment in the plumbing and heating industry. You could also progress onto Higher Education.

During any of our Plumbing and Gas courses you will be expected to seek employment in the industry enabling you to gain invaluable hands-on experience.

Fees

16-18 years old, no tuition fees apply to Full Time courses and fees subject to confirmation. Additional costs applicable to BHS courses.

For all two year courses fees shown above are per year.

Aged 19+ and planning to take a level 3 or above a different fee may apply. You may be eligible for an Advanced Learning Loan.

All HE courses (full and part time) are subject to tuition fees.
