Level 3 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair Principles

motor vehicle wheel change

Overview

This course is designed to allow you to specialise in the area of fault rectification and diagnosis on modern vehicles. You will build on the practical skills and knowledge you have learnt from a Level 2 motor vehicle qualification and will be well prepared for moving into the motor vehicle industry as a full-time technician. This diploma qualification is the technical certificate element of a modern motor vehicle apprenticeship so if you could find work in a garage on completion of the course, you would only need to complete the workplace observations and possibly functional skills.

The level 3 qualification consists of the following units:

  • Diagnosing and rectifying light vehicle engine faults
  • Diagnosing and rectifying light vehicle chassis system faults
  • Diagnosing and rectifying light vehicle transmission and driveline faults
  • Diagnosing and rectifying vehicle auxiliary electrical faults
