Overview

This qualification in Refrigerant Handling (F-Gas) can be the first step into the vehicle-based air conditioning sector. It also helps if you are already working in the sector to further develop your skills and get an acknowledgement of what you already offer. You will learn about the underlying principles and mechanics of air conditioning.

Course Content - What will I learn?

You will learn how to check the air conditioning system in a car, drain the system, vacuum test and re-gas.

The following 2 units are core to completing the qualification:- Handle refrigerants, Basic air-conditioning principles

Am I right for the course?

This part-time evening course (1 evening a week over 3 weeks) is suitable for adults who have a keen interest in the motor vehicle sector and who work or wish to work as a mechanic or technician.
Those who want to gain the relevant license/qualification to Handle Refrigerants Safely

Industry related Level 2 or 3 qualification or four years experience in the trade.

This is a practical course with some classroom theory. You will sit a one-hour exam at the end of your course.

16-18 years old, no tuition fees apply to Full Time courses and fees subject to confirmation. Additional costs applicable to BHS courses.

For all two year courses fees shown above are per year.

Aged 19+ and planning to take a level 3 or above a different fee may apply. You may be eligible for an Advanced Learning Loan.

All HE courses (full and part time) are subject to tuition fees.
