Overview

The L3 National Foundation Diploma in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship will provide you with the opportunity to explore the process behind finding and developing new business opportunities and develop your skills and knowledge so that you can build on these with the intention of making them both successful and profitable.

Following the global COVID pandemic there has never been a better time to build your own business as the country recovers from the financial impact and this course will prepare you to capitalise on the opportunities that are out there.

Course Content - What will I learn?

Modules covered include: Enterprise & Entrepreneurs, Developing a Marketing Campaign, Personal & Business Finance & Launch and Run an Enterprise. Plus a range of optional units from the following: Survival & Growth, Business Decision Making, Social Enterprise, Enterprise and Intrapreneurship in Practice, Innovation and Enterprises, Recruitment and Selection Process, Marketing Communications, Principles of Management & Developing an Enterprise Strategy.

Am I right for the course?

The Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Foundation Diploma in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship in initially a 1 year qualification that is equivalent in size to 1.5 A Levels, however if a student succesfully completes their 1st year they will be enrolled into the the Pearson BTEC National Extended Diploma in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship with is a further years study and will equip students with the equivalent of theree A Levels. The study programme is intended for students who want to progress directly to higher education at degree level, or to employment in enterprise and entrepreneurship. Progress could be either directly to employment in Level 3 job roles or via higher education courses.

4 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above including Maths and English or a Level 2 qualification in business or a related vocational area.

All students at Oaklands College take part in an initial assessment in Maths and English which helps us ensure that all learners are studying at the appropriate level. Throughout the course you will be continually assessed using a wide variety of practical and written assignments, which will test your knowledge and are used as evidence of achievment.

Alongside your course you’ll study English and maths at the level appropriate to you and take part in work placements to develop your skills and confidence.

The course is delivered by experienced staff that have worked in a wide range of relevant areas and they draw upon this experience to ensure that the curriculum is engaging, relevant and contextualised.

What Next?

The qualification is recognised by higher education providers as fully meeting admission requirements for many relevant courses in the enterprise sector, as a single or joint programme at Degree, Foundation Degree or HND level. Learners can progress to Higher Apprenticeships in areas such as business administration, marketing, accounting, sales or enterprise. The qualification will also give learners the skills to enter the self-employed market. This qualification is primarily designed to support progression to employment through further study in higher education. The qualification also supports learners who choose to progress directly to employment, as the transferable knowledge, understanding and skills will give successful learners an advantage in applying for a range of ‘school leaver’ programmes in management. They can also apply for Higher Apprenticeships in areas such as business administration, marketing, accounting, sales or enterprise, innovation and growth, and the qualification will give them the skills to enter the self-employed market.

16-18 years old, no tuition fees apply to Full Time courses and fees subject to confirmation. Additional costs applicable to BHS courses.

For all two year courses fees shown above are per year.

Aged 19+ and planning to take a level 3 or above a different fee may apply. You may be eligible for an Advanced Learning Loan.

All HE courses (full and part time) are subject to tuition fees.
