If you are interested in how science can help solve crimes then this may be the course for you. This course helps you to develop a wide range of scientific and investigatory skills including scientific procedures and techniques, criminal investigating procedures and forensic genetics.

Course Content - What will I learn?

You willl study four mandatory units, covering the following content areas:
? principles and applications of science
? practical scientific procedures and techniques
? science investigation skills
? forensic investigation procedures in practice.

option units cover content areas such as:

? forensic traffic collision investigation
? forensic genetics
? environmental forensics
? forensic fire investigation

This qualification enables you to acquire substantial cross-sector scientific knowledge and practical scientific skills, as well as forensic evidence collection and analysis skills.

What Next?

The qualification carries UCAS points and is recognised by Higher Education providesr
as contributing to admission requirements for many relevant courses. Taken on its own, the
National Diploma in Forensic and Criminal Investigation will offer you the opportunity to
progress to degree courses.

On completion of the Applied Science course you will have the ability to apply to university to further develop your skills in this fascinating subject. You will receive support for applications to university or work with training to pursue your career in the range of jobs associated with Forensic Investigation.

16-18 years old, no tuition fees apply to Full Time courses and fees subject to confirmation. Additional costs applicable to BHS courses.

For all two year courses fees shown above are per year.

Aged 19+ and planning to take a level 3 or above a different fee may apply. You may be eligible for an Advanced Learning Loan.

All HE courses (full and part time) are subject to tuition fees.
