Level 1 Diploma in Plumbing (2251)

Overview

This qualification is for those wanting to enter the Plumbing or Electrical industry. It gives you the opportunity to pick up some core skills and knowledge and gives you the opportunity to progress onto either our Level 2 & 3 Plumbing or Electrical Installation qualifications.

Course Content - What will I learn?

Unit 101 Structure of the construction industry
Unit 102 Fundamental safe working practices
Unit 103 Environmental and sustainability measures in domestic dwellings
Unit 104 Site preparation for working in the construction industry
Unit 108 Above ground drainage
Unit 109 Copper pipework
Unit 110 Plastic pressure pipework
Unit 111 Low carbon steel pipework
Unit 112 Installation, repair and maintenance of plumbing systems.
Unit 113 Plumbing science

Am I right for the course?

These qualifications are aimed at learners who want to learn the basic skills and knowledge of either Plumbing or Electrical Installation.

A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 3 – 1 or successful completion of an Entry Level programme.

Assessment on the level 1 program is through a range of methods that include written and on line exams, practical portfolio and in class assignments.

you will also be required to undertake Maths and English at the appropriate level.

The team is made up of fully qualified trades people who have come into Further Education from different parts of the plumbing industry. Collectively, the team at Oaklands College has vast experience in
domestic, commercial and industrial installations and are here to fully support and train you to the correct level required by City and Guilds and the plumbing industry.

What Next?

It allows learners to progress to the following City & Guilds qualifications:
· Level 2 Certificate in Plumbing Studies 8202

During any of our Plumbing and Gas courses you will be expected to seek employment in the industry enabling you to gain invaluable hands-on experience.

Fees

16-18 years old, no tuition fees apply to Full Time courses and fees subject to confirmation. Additional costs applicable to BHS courses.

For all two year courses fees shown above are per year.

Aged 19+ and planning to take a level 3 or above a different fee may apply. You may be eligible for an Advanced Learning Loan.

All HE courses (full and part time) are subject to tuition fees.
