T Level in Building Services and Engineering

Overview

The T-level is a new two-year qualification which combines classroom theory, practical learning and a substantial work experience placement in the second year to ensure students have the skills to thrive in the world of work.

Course Content - What will I learn?

The core content consists of the following units;

  • Health & Safety in Construction
  • Construction Science and principles
  • Construction design principles
  • Construction and the built environment
  • Construction sustainability principles
  • Construction measurement principles
  • Building Technology principles
  • Construction information principles
  • Relationship management in construction
  • Digital technology in construction
  • Construction commercial/business principles
  • Building services
  • Engineering systems
  • Maintenance Principles
  • Tools equipment and materials

Students will also take the following specialist units;

  • Electrotechnical Engineering
  • Install electrotechnical systems
  • Commission electrotechnical systems
  • Maintain electrotechnical systems
  • De-commission electrotechnical systems

What Next?

There are different pathways which are available to you following the successful completion of your T-level Technical Qualification in Building Services Engineering for Construction.

Options to consider include:

  • Applying to university – Your T-level will be worth
    UCAS points – A ‘T-level Distinction*’ is worth the
    same as 3 A levels at A* – and will be recognised
    by universities and other education providers so
    you can choose to continue studying if you wish.
  • Level 4 HNC Electrical & Electronic Control
    Engineering which is recognised by industry
    employers and professional organisations
  • Opportunities to specialise with an
    Apprenticeship.

During any of our Plumbing and Gas courses you will be expected to seek employment in the industry enabling you to gain invaluable hands-on experience.

Fees

16-18 years old, no tuition fees apply to Full Time courses and fees subject to confirmation. Additional costs applicable to BHS courses.

For all two year courses fees shown above are per year.

Aged 19+ and planning to take a level 3 or above a different fee may apply. You may be eligible for an Advanced Learning Loan.

All HE courses (full and part time) are subject to tuition fees.
