L3 Diploma in Forensic Science plus A Level


This course is designed for students who aspire to work in the field of crime and criminality paired with the world of forensic investigation and gain a deeper understanding of what makes a criminal, from a societal, psychological and law perspective. The course allows you to combine one A Level with an Forensic Science qualification. The course develops the academic and practical skills that relates to the different aspects of science.

Course Content - What will I learn?

Mandatory units of study within Applied Science include: Principles and Applications of Science I & II, Practical Scientific Procedures & Techniques, Science Investigation Skills, Lab Techniques and their Application, Investigative Project, Contemporary Issues in Science.

You will also study A Level Psychology with the option to include AS Level Extended Project Qaulification (EPQ).

What Next?

This qualification is designed to support progression to degree level studies in areas such as Forensic Science, Criminology or Forensic Psychology.

On completion of the Applied Science course you will have the ability to apply to university to further develop your skills in this fascinating subject. You will receive support for applications to university or work with training to pursue your career in the range of jobs associated with Forensic Investigation.
