Accounting Apprenticeships



This Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship Standard is suitable for those wishing to embark on a career in the
accounting sector.

As an Assistant Accountant, you will provide support to internal and external customers within an accounting practice or alternatively within the finance function of an organisation. An integral of part of your role will involve assisting in the day-to-day financial activities from data entry to month end management accounts and/ or year-end financial statements. You may find yourself involved in regulatory financial requirements such as the completion of VAT returns or assisting in the preparation of tax calculations.

Course Content - What will I learn?

The core learning includes: Basic Bookkeeping, Advanced Bookkeeping, Indirect Taxation / Spreadsheets, Final Accounts Preparation, Management Accounting / Financial Costings, Professional Ethics.

What Next?

On completion of your Apprenticeship you can progress onto a Diploma L4 for Accounting Technicians.
