You will gain hands on experience of handling large farm animals on the College’s working farm based at the St Albans Campus, and will get to work alongside sheep, cows, goats, alpacas and pigs across the College’s 500 acres of farmland.

Students also have the chance to learn how to prepare and show livestock at county shows around the country, including the Hertfordshire , Suffolk and Berkshire shows, where past students have picked up a impressive collection of prizes.

Every Spring during peak lambing time, our students take part in a rota system and stay at the College around the clock to make sure ewes who are giving birth get the assistance and care they need.
