Access courses are nationally recognised qualifications designed to bridge the gap between your existing education and what you need to enter High Education. If you are aged 19 or over our Access courses will provide you with the skills, confidence and knowledge you need to progress onto a degree level course.
How our Access to HE students benefit
- Teaching delivered by experts in their fields
- A range of pathways
- Support and guidance available throughout the course
Our Access courses will prepare you for entry to university. A particular feature of our courses is the development of successful learning skills and the ability to work independently. We had a 96% achievement rate on Access programmes in 2015-16, with the majority of students receiving their first choice university offer.
Before joining one of our Access courses you are strongly advised to research your chosen progression options and contact universities to establish exact entry criteria for your intended programmes of study. You may need to clarify the exact units and credits covered by our course, please contact our advice and guidance team should you need support with this.
All of our full time programmes include opportunities to support and enhance your learning so that you can achieve your goals and ambitions. Students enrol on a Study Programme which individualises their education whilst enhancing their employability skills. A Study programme is made up of four key elements which includes a main vocational qualification, the development of English and maths through the study of GCSE’s or Functional Skills, Work-related learning through work experience and Personal Development Reviews.
