They just seem to pop into our heads and we have no idea where they came from. Most of them actually come from your unconscious mind. We will be exploring ways to harness this source to provide inspiration for writers. Analysing published stories for the secrets of their success: analysing the work of published writers sharpens your ability to criticise and improve your own work. We will be looking at a novel, a short story and a piece of non-fiction in order to see how the writers applied the 'rules of writing' to produce entertaining work.
