Applied Science is the application of knowledge from one or more natural scientific fields to practical problems, while Forensic Science is a broad field that encompasses many types of forensic scientists.

Forensic anthropologists study bones; forensic pathologists examine bodies and look for clues while performing autopsies; and Forensic Psychologists and Psychiatrists investigate the criminal mind and assist in profiling.

Our science courses are best suited for students who have an eye for detail and an inquisitive nature. These skills, coupled with a passion for science, allow our students to better explore the realms of forensic science.

The BTEC qualifications in Applied Sciences and Forensic Science provide a work-related course of study that covers the knowledge and practical skills required in the sector. The Level 3 Extended Diploma programme, developed in the areas of a laboratory and industrial science, is equivalent to 3 A Levels and can lead to direct entry to university.

All of our full time programmes include opportunities to support and enhance your learning so that you can achieve your goals and ambitions. Students enrol on a Study Programme which individualises their education whilst enhancing their employability skills. A Study programme is made up of four key elements which includes a main vocational qualification, the development of English and maths through the study of GCSE’s or Functional Skills, Work-related learning through work experience and Personal Development Reviews.
