Computing courses at Oaklands College aim to give you a better understanding of the role computers play within business. Working in today’s challenging and fast-paced IT environment, and being able to adapt to the changing world requires you to have a wide range of skills.

Teaching staff come with extensive qualifications and experience in networking, programming and hardware installation. They will support you at every stage of the course, making it an enjoyable and interesting learning experience.

Our advisors can help match a course to your needs, depending on your skill level and future aspirations. We have courses fit for aspiring IT Application Specialists and basic IT users, delivered on site as well as an apprenticeship.

All of our full time programmes include opportunities to support and enhance your learning so that you can achieve your goals and ambitions. Students enrol on a Study Programme which individualises their education whilst enhancing their employability skills. A Study programme is made up of four key elements which includes a main vocational qualification, the development of English and maths through the study of GCSE’s or Functional Skills, Work-related learning through work experience and Personal Development Reviews.

This specialist IT course provides content and structures that help learners to acquire the skills and knowledge needed to work as professionals in the IT sector. Units are based on the national Occupational Standards and contextualised to the ICT business environment.
