If you have specialised knowledge of a skill you would like to pass on to others or are considering a teaching career in the FE sector then our initial teacher training courses will help you on your way.

The scope of FE is huge – from construction to computing, health & social care to horticulture, English to engineering, sport to science. Further education teachers work with a diverse range of people including A level students, craft apprentices and technicians, mature learners, students with learning difficulties and disabilities, ESOL groups, functional skills groups and those wanting to gain vocational skills or any level up to HE degree level.

Further education (FE) is a dynamic sector where you will find rewarding jobs teaching students age 14 and above. It is now even more attractive as a teaching option; a new government scheme means you may be eligible for a bursary of up to £20,000 if you are looking to teach maths or English or to enable students with special educational needs (SEN) achieve their goals. This bursary scheme has been established to help cover the cost of teacher training courses, so that eligible graduates can join the sector. Find out more by visiting the FE Advice website
