Apprenticeships - Health and Social Care Apprenticeship Level Three

Students will be required to completed nine mandatory units (28 credits) and optional units (30 credits) totalling 58 credits. Each unit has knowledge questions and competences will be observed in the work place. Contents: Functional skills are included: . Application of number level 2 . Communication level 2 Technical certificate The Knowledge Based Element (Technical Certificate) The Technical Certificate allows you to learn, develop and practice the skills required for employment or career progression in the Health and Social Care sector. You will be required to complete a number of assignments which contain both practical and theoretical activities with the focus on real work situation. What are the Course Requirements?

Students must be working in the care setting and they must have completed the probationary period. They must be working in a senior role or as a support worker.

Course Content - What will I learn?

Students will be required to learn application of number to level 1; Students will also learn communication level 1. Students will learn about their policies and procedures and legislation. The student will gain a greater understanding of their work role within their area of competence.

Most of your training is carried out at your place of work through an Individual Learning Plan. This is designed to provide you with the support, supervision and work-based mentoring you will need.

An assessor will work alongside you and your employer to monitor your progress against nationally recognised qualifications within your vocational area. This ensures that while your needs – and those of your employer – are being met at a local level, the qualifications you gain meet the highest national standards.

Assessors also visit you at your workplace to see how you are putting your developing skills into practice on the job.

Classes will be taught by experienced professionals who will ensure you develop your technical knowledge and key skills.
