No entry qualifications, other than a willingness to learn. You should be aged 16 – 18 on entry.
What you will learn
This programme is for students with a moderate learning difficulty and is designed to provide additional support through the transition from school to work, or education, training and qualifications in a particular area of work. This is achieved through drawing on college, work experience, home and community resources to teach a wide range of personal, social and vocational skills. Students can follow a wide range of subjects including, Functional Skills, IT, Gardening, Horse Care, Horse Riding, Animal Care, Art, Sports Studies, Construction, Health and Social Care, Childcare, Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Food Studies.
What you can do next
On leaving the programme you can progress onto Entry Level 3 or if appropriate, a Level 1 course, employment or a further supported programme. Qualifications include City & Guilds Award and Certificate in Employability and Personal Development and City & Guilds Functional Skills in English, Maths and ICT as appropriate.
