The scope of FE is huge – from construction to computing, health & social care to horticulture, English to engineering, sport to science. Further education teachers work with a diverse range of people including A level students, craft apprentices and technicians, mature learners, students with learning difficulties and disabilities, ESOL groups, functional skills groups and those wanting to gain vocational skills or any level up to HE degree level.

Further education (FE) is a dynamic sector where you will find rewarding jobs teaching students age 14 and above. It is now even more attractive as a teaching option; a new government scheme means you may be eligible for a bursary of up to £20,000 if you are looking to teach maths or English or to enable students with special educational needs (SEN) achieve their goals.
