ST ALBANS — On Wednesday 4 June Oaklands College hosted an inter-college competition which saw four equestrian teams come together and compete in show jumping, a dressage show and an equine quiz.

The competition, including Berkshire College of Agriculture, Moulton College and Shuttleworth College, was organised by Oaklands College’s Level 3 Extended Diploma Horse Management students, who are studying event management as part of their course.

Each college team consisted of four members, two riders for a novice dressage test and two for a 70-80cm show jumping course.

Kevin Herron, Equine Lecturer, commented: “The team were fantastic and rode brilliantly.

“I have to say a massive well done and congratulations to all of the students, they are a shining example of what an Oaklands student can achieve.”

Megan Hall, Equine student and organiser, commented: “The day was such a success, and it’s great to know that we can organise something on this scale and show our skills as part of our course.”
