LONDON — Former Sports Studies student and lecturer Alex Scott, famous for her professional football career with Arsenal and England Women, reached the Quarter Finals of BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing this weekend.

Alex and her dance partner Neil Jones performed the first Argentine Tango of the series and in doing so, were voted through to the next round despite suffering a wardrobe malfunction.

It was a memorable weekend for the former professional footballer-turned pundit, who had been inducted into the National Football Museum Hall of Fame on Saturday.

Speaking to SheKicks magazine, Alex said: “This is a huge honour to be inducted into the National Football Museum Hall of Fame and a massive confidence boost for me ahead of the weekend.

To be named alongside some incredible legends of the game is something I am very proud of and is something I will treasure forever.”

Alex and her partner Neil will now spend the week preparing for their next routine, having made it through to Musicals week.

Alex told fans via social media: “I can not begin to tell you how grateful I am that you are behind myself and Neil and for voting us through to the Quarter Finals.

We have another week of hard work to once again try to improve and make you all proud next week.”
