Former Oaklands College student Albert Clegg co-created an eye-catching mural in St Albans, with help from a local primary school.

The inspirational mural, which was unveiled by former Olympic gold medallist Denise Lewis, encourages the nation to get behind Team GB ahead of the Tokyo Olympics.

The piece kickstarted an ‘art-relay’ which aims to transform ten unique walls of art around the country, offering support to the nation’s Olympians.

Albert; who attended Oaklands College in 2010, is a successful local artist whose work was recently featured in an art gallery within the new Tottenham Hotspur stadium, the first of its kind aimed at showcasing the works of local artists.

Born and raised in St Albans, artist Albert Clegg also had the help of his former school, Maple Primary, with pupils’ artwork providing inspiration for the mural.
