GCSE Results Day

*Important update for level 1 and level 2 BTEC results*
Updated 20th August

The awarding organisation have informed us, on late Wednesday afternoon (19th), that there will be a delay in processing your grades for the last academic year. The awarding organisation have to come to this decision in light of the recent reforms issued to A-level and GCSE exam results. Pearson’s would like to review the results to ensure that no student undertaking a vocational qualification is disadvantaged in light of the recent changes made to A-Level and GCSE results. Therefore, Pearson’s have issued a statement detailing:

  • They would like to review all results to ensure that students on vocational course are not being disadvantaged
  • No student will be issued with a lower grade than that agreed by the college but they may be higher

In light of this new information, we would like reassure you that as soon as the grades are received we will send out further communication of when you can expect your results to be issued.

If you have any concerns or queries please do not hesitate to contact us at; quality@oaklands.ac.uk  should you require further clarification. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this may cause you however, if you wish to progress with your course at the next level at the college this will not affect your progression and next steps.

Please don’t worry if you haven’t received your BTec results as you can still enrol now. Call 01727 737000 if need any help or advice.

When is GCSE results day?

Students will receive their GCSE   results on Thursday 20th August 2020. Please see message above about delay in BTECs due to exam board review

Traditionally, students are invited to Oaklands College to collect their GCSE results from the campus in which they studied, but due to social distancing, this will not be possible this year.

How will students receive their results?

This year, students will be emailed their results in order to maintain the health and safety of both staff and students during challenging times.

How have results been graded?

Schools and colleges have been asked by the Department for Education (DfE) to provide predicted grades for their GCSE pupils, based on prior performance.
