Hertfordshire School Games

Over 1000 students compete at Oaklands College

2 July 2013

On Thursday 27 June the College played host to the final of the Hertfordshire School Games.

Held at the College’s St Albans Campus, fifteen secondary and primary schools from around Herfordshire competed against each other to see who was the fastest, strongest and had the best technical ability.

The Hertfordshire School Games is now in its third year and first year being held at the College.

Sue McKinnon, Marketing Officer, commented: “Over 1,000 students were given access to our grounds and new facilities due to problems with their previous location and the fact that we wanted to share our facilities with local community as much as we can.

“We have managed to arrange for 7 different sports activities to take place including cricket, fencing, golf, gymnastics, hockey, rugby (boys and girls) and tennis.”
