Herts County Show 2019 a resounding success for Oaklands Agriculture

The Agriculture team at Oaklands College celebrated a successful weekend at this year's Herts County Show, taking home a plethora of rosettes in livestock competitions.

The Agriculture team at Oaklands College celebrated a successful weekend at this year’s Herts County Show, taking home a plethora of rosettes in livestock competitions. 

The Hertfordshire County Show, which showcased the very best of local food, drink, agriculture and performers, is an annual show which was set up by the Hertfordshire Agricultural Society. 

The team of Oaklands College students and staff members, mentored by Animal Care Coordinator Rachel Peach, were a resounding success as they showcased the very best of Agriculture at the college. 

Principal Zoe Hancock said: “The students and staff did a brilliant job and were excellent ambassadors for the college.” 

The Level 1 and 3 Agriculture students had prepared for the event for a number of weeks, practising their routines in the mock show rings created in the expansive Oaklands College acreage. 

Oaklands Agriculture students claimed a variety of rosettes and accolades for their incredible performances and were a tribute to the college and the Horticulture department.
