Politicians representing the Labour Party, Liberal Democrats and Conservatives Party were welcomed to Oaklands College today to engage in a Student’s Question Time.

Candidates from the three leading parties, including Daisy Cooper from the Liberal Democrats, Anne Main from the Conservatives and Hemel Hempstead Labour candidate Nabila Ahmed were all present.

Students learnt why they should register to vote and the importance of exercising their right to vote. Additionally, students learnt about the individual party manifestos and were given opportunity to challenge the candidates on their views and policies, in a question and answer session.

The event offered students from courses such as Government & Politics, Public Services, Horticulture, Business and A-Levels the opportunity to ask decisive questions which would impact their voting outcomes and challenge candidates views.

Candidates discussed important topics including the NHS, homelessness, education, Brexit and the EU Referendum.
